Chapter 10 is a particularly great chapter on the gifts of the Spirit where Holdcroft discusses the rise of Cessation doctrine. Cessationism as history and doctrine can be traced to the rise of the professional clergy at which point the church stopped being led by prophets and priest and became throttled by bishops, presbyters, and other such administrative hierarchy.
