The Heat Seekers ReviewFans of Zane and fans of literature alike will be able to appreciate her newest venture. The Heat Seekers, the saga of best friends Tempest and Janessa, has all of the humor and drama that has made Zane's previous works smash hits. However, this book also deals with some serious issues, such as unplanned pregnancy.
Tempest has been looking for love in all the wrong places. Harboring her doubts about the male species, she stumbles upon Geren, a man from the fairy tales. But she's been keeping secrets, and the heat from this one could cause her to lose it all. Tempest's best friend Janessa wants the same thing any woman wants. To be loved, to be appreciated. However, when you run with dogs, you're bound to get fleas, and Janessa finds out the difference between a boy and a man.
The Heat Seekers is an entertaining, thought provoking read with many plot twists and turns. The characters are likeable if not deserving of compassion and empathy. The Heat Seekers is complete with cameo appearances by characters from Shame On it All, including Raul, the exiguous entrepreneur, and passing mentions of the Whitfield sisters themselves. In this piece, Zane pays more attention to the serious issues confronting her characters, and less to their shenanigans. The book will have you doubled over in laughter one moment and pondering the decisions you may have made in your own life the next. The Heat Seekers is Zane's most robust work to date, while she proves to the literary world that she's got it like that.
Reviewed by CandaceKThe Heat Seekers OverviewHot, hungry, and hunting... They're sisters of the soul, two girlfriends hitting the clubs in search of that oh-so-rare commodity: straight, single guys. Tempest sports a modest suit, while Janessa runs wild in a skintight minidress -- but they both want the same thing: the heat, the passion, the spark to ignite the sensual fires inside. It takes time and patience to find such a special lover. But somewhere among the freaks and fruitcakes, they know there's a match for each of them. Tall, dark, and hands-on... The last thing Geren wants is a relationship -- most women can't see past his money and his good looks. His best friend Dvontè is a player, with sex -- and definitely not commitment -- on his mind. But when Dvontè talks Geren into going clubbing, fate leads them to Tempest and Janessa. Attractions flare, connections are made, lives are changed -- and secrets come to light. Together, they are the heat seekers, four daring hearts willing to play with fire -- and take the risk of getting burned....

Missionary No More: Purple Panties 2 ReviewMISSIONARY NO MORE is a collection of short stories geared towards the lesbian community. The stories vary in style and presentation. The stories within this compilation are graphic, some stories deal with fetishes and there is even a science fiction erotic tale.
The most memorable story to me is "Caged", which details the rise and fall of a young woman whose looks made prison a living nightmare and left her facially disfigured. Life for the young woman didn't get better behind bars until she allowed herself to be used sexually by the other inmates.
MISSIONARY NO MORE, as with the previous Purple Panties anthology, has to be read with an open mind. Even with my open mind, I was not as enthralled with many of the stories and at times, the stories were so similar they were unexciting. Although the writing wasn't bad, some of the stories were a bit too explicit for my taste and this collection lacked the sensuality of the original anthology.
