Treatment of Disease in TCM: Disease of the Mouth, Lips, Tongue, Teeth and Gums (vol. 3) ReviewI am a Traditional Lakota healer, but I have studied Traditional Chinese medicine since the 1970s, when nothing I or any Western medicine could do to treat a leg injury. I found an acupuncturist who was also an anesthesiologist in my hunt for some means to return the use of the leg to me. I went in for the first treatment on a brace I had made, & crutches. I walked out carrying them all over my shoulder an hour-&-a-half later. My study began there & then.
This book is easy to follow & understand. I would like it to have a bit more information in two areas - diagnosis alternatives, and sources for some of the herbal formulas - even though a person can find these with a bit of searching in other references or online. But overall, this is an excellent guide & any practitioner of traditional healing ways will find it of considerable value.Treatment of Disease in TCM: Disease of the Mouth, Lips, Tongue, Teeth and Gums (vol. 3) OverviewThis is the third volume in the sever-volume seriestitled The Treatment of Disease in TCM authored by Philippe Sionneauand Lu Gang. In this volume, the authors discuss the TCM diseasecuases and mechanisms, pattern discrimination, treatment principles, formulas and atheir modifications, and acupuncture and moxibustion fora wide variety of Diseases of the mouth, lips, tongue, teeth, andgums. This volume is the first TCM textbook on Stomatology to bepublished in English. Practitioners will find this book an invaluableresource for dealing with patients with everything from oral aphthaeto bleeding and/or receding gums. Not only is this book unique becauseof the number of diseases it discusses but also becuase of theinclusiveness of the patterns listed under each disease category. Inaddition, the modifications of the guiding formulas and acupunctureprotocols exemplify and insure individualized treatment plans forindividual patients.
